The aim of this website is to introduce beginners to the Canon EOS digital camera, moving them away from the 'Basic Zone' and into the 'Creative Zone'.
This site is based around the EOS 1000D/1100D as this is the beginners Canon camera. However the Canon EOS system is fundamentally the same for all Canon cameras so this guide should be applicable to all beginners on any Canon EOS camera.
If you have a camera by another manufacturer then hopefully you can still find this site useful. The basic principles are the same for any camera. Of course, the menu options will be slightly different. In some cases the functions may have slightly different names. In particular the names used for the different Metering Modes varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.
Please note that the Canon 'EOS Rebel XS' is the Canadian name for the 1000D, and 'EOS Kiss-F' is the Japanese name.
